Patricia Apollonia Kotero, an American singer and actress was a model in the past. She is best known as the star of the 1984 Prince Purple Rain film and lead singer of the girl group Apollonia 6 The singer and actress who was christened Apollonia by Prince was one of the many female performers in the 1980s to benefit from her association with the Purple One. Patricia Kotero is a Californian actress who was born in Santa Monica, California in 1959. Her beginnings included working as a television model. In 1984, Patricia Kotero was a part of the main woman in the movie Prince's Purple Rain. (During this time period, she also changed her name.) Her replacement was Vanity from the female trio Vanity 6 who starred in the film alongside Apollonia 6 under their name. The three scored a minor smash with Sex Shooter however it was as Prince's duet partner in Take Me with You from the soundtrack that she achieved a greater chart impact. Kotero ended her relationship with Prince when they fell apart over the direction of Apollonia 6. Kotero went on to be featured in various minor roles throughout the time (reportedly declining to appear in The Purple Rain follow-up Under the Cherry Moon) before landing a role on the night-time drama Falcon Crest during 1985-1986. Apollonia's debut album debuted in 1988. But the R&B/dance songs were not a huge hit by those who bought music. It soon disappeared.
